The first local wooden church in the village of Mykytyntsi was built in 1743 under the title of the Assumption of St. Anna. On the map it is marked as ‘1783’. The modern church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross was built in 1859, the new bell tower was constructed from the old material. 

It is a wooden, cruciform, single-story building with a square nave. The only shrine on the region, which walls and attic are covered with shingles, while the roofs are covered with tin. The tempera paintings of the 19th century have been preserved in the interior. 

The church was restored both outside and inside during 1987-1990. Now it is a functioning church, belonging to the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church community

It is an architectural monument of national importance.
