The church of St. Nicholas is also called the ‘upper’ one, as in the village there are two churches dedicated to one patron saint, and the dwellers have to distinguish them by geography. The church belongs to one of the oldest Potyssia and Ukraine temples. It is a monument of folk architecture and life of the 15th-18th centuries.  According to some sources, the temple was built in 1428, as the oldest parts of the church, the two wooden logs, and date back to the year. The famous researcher M. Mirokhman dates the superstructure over the logs back to 1600. The church is wooden, three part, with a wide nave and the narthex, with a five-part faceted altar. The narrow Gothic lancet windows have been preserved in the narthex. The roofs are covered with wooden shingles. The church has a gilded carved iconostasis of the 18th century. The church of St. Nicholas is one of the few religious buildings, where a part of the wall paintings has been preserved, and has been recognized as a prominent work of folk painting of the 17th century. The icon of the Blessed Virgin ‘Sign’, located in the vault, painted in the traditions of folk decorative art, is distinguished by special monumentalism.
The church is a unique monument of the Transcarpathian school of carpentry and together with the paintings it is one of the most perfect works of Ukrainian monumental art.
