The first mention of the local church dates back to 1701. There was a small wooden church of the Holy Trinity in the first half of the 18th century, consecrated in the 1720s, in the village of Yamna. Instead, in 1766, St. John the Merciful church was built. The modern shrine was constructed in 18161830 on the site of the previous one. According to other sources, it was mentioned as the St. Michael the Archangel church and was built in the 1718thcenturies. According to legend, the old iconostasis was made at the expense of Oleksa Dovbush.

It is a five-log cabin, cruciform, single-domed building. The central log of the building is covered with a tent dome, which is located on a quadrangular base. The side log cabins are covered with gabled roofs. Wood shingle roof in the 90s of the 20th century was replaced by tin.

Today, it is a functioning temple belonging to the community of the UGCC (the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church).
