The church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary is an ancient wooden Hutsul church in Deliatyn village, Ivano-Frankivsk region, Ukraine. It is an architectural monument of national importance.
The church is located in the western part of the village (a virtual image), it dates back to 1782-1785 (according to other sources to 1620), when it was moved from the Posich tract. The church was extended in 1894, 1902 and 1911-1912. During the Soviet period the church was protected a an architectural monument of the Ukrainian SSR (№236). In 1967 the Soviet authorities were going to turn the temple into museum of the Carpathian nature, but it was not fulfilled. It has been used by the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church community (Fr. Bohdan Ivaniuk has been the dean since 1991, Fr. Petro Holineii(since 1998) and Fr. Vasyl Yusko also serve there).
The church is cruciform with a central nave log house and side arms in which the entrances are located. Another entrance is located in the narthex. The sacristies are attached to the altar. The temple windows are made of plastic. The volume of the log cabin exceeds the nave on the octagonal base of which there is a pear-shaped dome. The side frames of the ramen are covered with gabled roofs. On the left side of the nave there is a wooden carved altar of St. Nicholas, and on the right there is the altar of St. Constantine and Elena. Carver Vasyl Turchyniak carved the altars with ornaments. The church iconostasis has a polychrome carving and tempera-oil paintings on it. The church walls have been painted with paintings of the late 19th-early 20th century.
The wooden bell tower which is a part of the monument dates back to 1785. It is structurally square and two-tiered (the first tier is a log house and the second one is a frame type). The temple is covered with a hip roof and long terraces on the log crowns. The second tier is formed by an arcade.
